Data Sources & Verification

Championship audit (primary source)

World Cup Trading Championships (WCTC). worldcupchampionships.com. Robbins Trading Company audits all entrants' real-money brokerage statements. Cited extensively across FTM rankings 2023-2026 for active competitors including Darren O'Neill (2025 multi-division), Andrea Unger (multiple divisions historically), Stefano Serafini, Michael Cook.

US Investing Championship. Real-money equity competition. Used for Mark Minervini, Oliver Kell, David Ryan cross-references.

Independent broker-statement audit

Independent broker-statement auditing. Used for cross-referencing individual-trader claims where championship participation is absent or limited.

Regulatory disclosure

BarclayHedge. Hedge-fund disclosure database. Used for institutional / fund-management subjects.

SEC ADV / PF. US-registered investment-adviser disclosures. Used for cross-references on US-based subjects.

What we don't use

Telegram-screenshot P&L without broker-side corroboration. Discord boasting. Social-media follower counts. Affiliate-paid 'review' content. Self-reported P&L tables without raw broker statements. Subject-supplied 'audited by [unverified third party]' claims.

A primary method is not a current data observation

ALFRED supplies a vintage-archive mechanism, while the original statistical agency owns definitions and revisions. BLS distinguishes series and adjustment policies; BEA describes national-account methods; BIS defines the coverage of its own survey. IMF forecast editions and CFTC position reports have different objects and clocks. None gives FTM an independently gathered trader survey. Link the method beside the claim it supports and identify the exact series, vintage and reference period if a value is used. This edition contains no downloaded macro observations or newly measured market-size estimate.

Keep availability and observation period distinct

A monthly statistic describes a period but becomes available at a later release event. A forecast edition has an information cutoff and projected horizon, not a realized future observation. A position report has participant categories and a reference date rather than a complete real-time account inventory. The guides ask readers to retain those fields before comparing values. Revisions require predecessor and successor identities. A latest-series chart can be useful for current description while fail to reconstruct what a trader knew historically. No source timestamp is fabricated in the authored register.

Scope the document-based work honestly

The dated release receipt records primary-source retrieval status without convert access into original fieldwork. The SEC staff bulletin offers performance-presentation questions, not a legal ruling on a named service. The publication checked no authentic private audit, paid-room population or subscriber account. Older claims of proprietary surveys and comparative tests are replaced with research requirements where their records were absent. A future actual investigation would need source rights, original rows, collection scope, failures and accountable authorship. More related publications repeating a figure cannot supply independent corroboration.

Reproducible files retain their classification

The new JSON and CSV exports identify authored teaching records, original input strings and explicit missing evidence. Numerical fixtures use independent Python Decimal calculations to check the pinned decimal engine. They are not new economic releases, trading outcomes or blind financial-validation samples. The original article claim-check workbench remains a declaration form, not independent authentication. A legal publisher and monitored security/correction contact remain to be confirmed. A successful cloud readback proves the served edition's identity, not continuous vendor or macro-data monitoring.
